The supporters of Cochuna booed when monterrey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hilario Jurgi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th match minute, monterrey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleto Muno to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute Dalmacio Poz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Markel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmacio Poz struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Eduardo Markel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cochuna. monterrey's Lorenzo Sesuldo got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Teo Illart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lorenzo Sesuldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Azeari having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lorenzo Sesuldo in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Azeari prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teo Illart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Azeari having to interfere. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind monterrey's goalkeeper Eduardo Markel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Romeo Olivar might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eduardo Markel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romeo Olivar ran back to his position shaking his head. After 36 played minutes monterrey got a freekick which was hit by Hilario Jurgi. monterrey's Eduardo Markel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmacio Poz in the 39th minute of play. When Dalmacio Jaume came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Cochuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dalmacio Jaume couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lorenzo Sesuldo was the one to do the kick off. If Teo Illart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teo Illarts short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Orlando Azeari to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 91 minutes into the game, Cochuna's Dalmacio Poz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eduardo Markel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After having played for 96 minutes, Dalmacio Poz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cochuna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalmacio Poz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
