Saturnino Ignatius started the match with the kick off. When Saturnino Ignatius came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Tacuarendí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnino Ignatius couldn't finish the play. If Arturo Clodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Darwin FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Aureliano Pierres hit a great ball. In the 18th minute of the match Darwin FC got a corner. Tacuarendí's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dante Txaran ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 20th minute Ivan Loreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Tebaldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Darwin FC defense, Saturnino Ignatius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Tebaldo. The Darwin FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Tebaldo should have stopped the shot. In the 24th match minute, Tacuarendí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Loreto to maneuver through the defense. If Joaquin Gau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lucas Erramu struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Elias Benvido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Darwin FC. Nicasio Gonchan succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Elias Benvido acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 43rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Aureliano Pierres. Nicasio Gonchan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saturnino Ignatius might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christian Tebaldo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saturnino Ignatius ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquin Gau to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Darwin FC booed when Tacuarendí was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Loreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tacuarendí's Elias Benvido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Erramu in the 58th minute of play. Elias Benvido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquin Gau's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Saturnino Ignatius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the game, Joaquin Gau cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Elias Benvido was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lucas Erramu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Benvido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. When Marco Ramone came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Darwin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Ramone couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Tacuarendí's zone, Joaquin Gau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Benvido came out of the goal and Joaquin Gau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Tacuarendí's Basilio Basajaun got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 93 played minutes Tacuarendí got a freekick which was hit by Astor Batista. Lucas Erramu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Arturo Clodio came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Darwin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Clodio couldn't finish the play.
