Constantino Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Adolfo Cordareo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 23 minutes, Teo Cordarell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teo Cordarell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zárate's Godofredo Grabiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Cordarell in the 27th minute of play. Adolfo Cordareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teo Cordarell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adolfo Cordareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteve Nesto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augusto Lapurdi in the 42nd minute. With a little luck, Leones's Esteve Nesto got control of the ball when Augusto Lapurdi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Constantino Thomas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teo Cordarell made a kick off. Constantino Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Esteve Nesto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Zárate got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Berriotxoa. Geronimo Eyague was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 57th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Constantino Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute Constantino Thomas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteve Nesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Leones fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Constantino Thomas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zárate's supporters rose to their feet, but Constantino Thomas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esteve Nesto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Augusto Lapurdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Esteve Nesto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Zárate's zone, Adolfo Cordareo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godofredo Grabiel came out of the goal and Adolfo Cordareo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the match, Zárate's goalkeeper Godofredo Grabiel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adolfo Cordareo. In the 89th minute, Adolfo Cordareo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leones's Guillermo Martxelin suffered a concussion in the 91st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Donato Olando fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zárate's protests and gave Donato Olando a yellow card for diving instead. Donato Olando hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After 99 played minutes Zárate got a freekick which was hit by Constantino Thomas. Leones's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
