Carlos Frasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laureano Quintin's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. 7 minutes into the match, Bolívar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Tercero came free, but Tiburcio Bernal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Frasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Goren in the 9th minute of the match. Norberto Saturnin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 11 minutes into the match. Pachango FC made a substitution. Agustin Seme replaced Silverio Heli. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Bolívar FC. Daniel Mirande stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Carlos Frasco. 0-1. Rogelio Tercero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Bernal having to interfere. Tiburcio Bernal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godofredo Guipuzkoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 20 minutes, Hector Lain mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bolívar FC and the Pachango FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Hector Lain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 25 minutes, Godofredo Guipuzkoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pachango FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Godofredo Guipuzkoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th match minute, Bolívar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Goren to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blas Ascencio in the 27th minute of play forced Pachango FC's goalkeeper Carlos Frasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 minutes, Reynaldo Tiniebra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bolívar FC and the Pachango FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 35 minutes into the game, Bolívar FC's Laureano Quintin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Frasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Agustin Seme shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Virgilio Vergaray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Bernal having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Godofredo Guipuzkoa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Godofredo Guipuzkoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiburcio Bernal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nemesio Cugat charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nemesio Cugat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Pachango FC booed when Bolívar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Lain didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bolívar FC's zone, Ruperto Esiquio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiburcio Bernal came out of the goal and Ruperto Esiquio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ruperto Esiquio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Nemesio Cugat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Godofredo Guipuzkoa sped through Bolívar FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tiburcio Bernal. Rogelio Tercero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiburcio Bernal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to Bolívar FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Alvaro Goren hit a great ball. Tiburcio Bernal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Tercero in the 98th minute of play.
