The audience cheered when Luciano Hustaz's long shot passed Israel Sotil's right side. It was 1-0, 9 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Frederik in the 14th minute of play forced Médanos AFC's goalkeeper Marco Peli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th match minute, Médanos AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atilano Aurken to maneuver through the defense. Hermengildo Piorno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Peli having to interfere. In the 32ndth minute of the game Hermengildo Piorno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Médanos AFC's Marco Peli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 34 played minutes, Cienaguillas FC's Marciano Chico shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marco Peli came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cienaguillas FC reached it. Marco Peli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Frederik in the 37th minute of the match. When Hermengildo Piorno got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Cienaguillas FC. After having played for 47 minutes, Anibal Osoitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cienaguillas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anibal Osoitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gonzalo Urki to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Médanos AFC's zone, Hermengildo Piorno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Peli came out of the goal and Hermengildo Piorno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bartolo Francis during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Cienaguillas FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Eulalio Matxin hit a great ball. Cienaguillas FC's Israel Sotil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Urki in the 61st minute of play. Constantino Papo charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Constantino Papo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd match minute, Cienaguillas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantino Papo to maneuver through the defense. Luciano Hustaz was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 65 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, one of Médanos AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Médanos AFC. The audience was convinced that Leo Frederik's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Peli was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. In the 75th minute, Nereo Macerio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Peli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Frederik in the 80th minute of the match. The supporters of Cienaguillas FC booed when Médanos AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolo Francis didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Hermengildo Piorno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leo Frederik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Marco Peli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Felix Ceandro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the game, Leo Frederik recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marco Peli. Leo Frederik showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Marco Peli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Frederik in the 98th minute of play.
