Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Oto got the match started through his kick off. 27 minutes into the match, Huachana's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Oto came free, but Nereo Otsoko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Universidad Monterrey's Daniel Oto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nereo Otsoko. That made the score 1-1 after 29 minutes of play. Celedonio Veronica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Arotza having to interfere. In the 36th minute of the match Freddy Refugio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armando Arotza skillfully saved the ball. Nereo Otsoko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Oto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elpidio Eder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Huachana getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Godofredo Urbasa hit a great ball. Eustaquio Jerardo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute Celedonio Veronica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Arotza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eustaquio Jerardo during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Daniel Oto might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nereo Otsoko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Oto ran back to his position shaking his head. Nereo Otsoko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Oto in the 63rd minute of play. Freddy Refugio kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. If Celedonio Veronica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armando Arotza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Eder in the 79th minute. Celedonio Veronica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Armando Arotza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armando Arotza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Veronica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 played minutes FC Universidad Monterrey got a freekick which was hit by Braulio Soin. When Elpidio Eder came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Huachana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Eder couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute Celedonio Veronica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Arotza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nereo Otsoko came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Universidad Monterrey's Andres Berasko. But to his dismay, Andres Berasko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Universidad Monterrey fans cheered their team off the field, for while Huachana had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
