The ball had pretty good speed, but Freddy Tono firmly grabbed it by the left post. After having played for 14 minutes, Raimundo Normando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cafayete's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundo Normando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serafin Socorro had several of the Cafayete's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 17 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Freddy Tono as he didn't even see the shot coming. A collision led to Corrales getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Domingos Elequemedo hit a great ball. Raimundo Normando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Garoa having to interfere. When Serafin Socorro came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Corrales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafin Socorro couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute, Haroldo Llorian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Corrales's Honorio Garoa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Corrales from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Haroldo Llorian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Freddy Tono was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. In the 55th minute, Haroldo Llorian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emiliano Salvidor's late challenge caught a Corrales's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emiliano Salvidor helped the player get up and apologised. Emiliano Salvidor hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hermengildo Cordaryal got free with Honorio Garoa in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Corrales's Domingos Elequemedo got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Raimundo Normando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Honorio Garoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honorio Garoa was a little too slow when Raimundo Normando got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 2-1. Hermengildo Cordaryal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haroldo Llorian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Tono having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Corrales's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Normando came free, but Honorio Garoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Raimundo Normando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Corrales's Horacio Natal got a free kick in the 87th minute. Freddy Tono showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafin Socorro, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Cafayete's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
