Nunez Todor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Garaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Vicente Tabby had several of the Coyotes de Sonora's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 21 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Nunez Todor as he didn't even see the shot coming. Coyotes de Sonora's Nunez Todor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Coyotes de Sonora from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Claraz's zone, Evaristo Lico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severiano Azibar came out of the goal and Evaristo Lico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Evaristo Lico had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Severiano Azibar. Claraz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evaristo Lico was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Claraz's Enrique Rexino suffered a concussion in the 35th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Prospero Dacio fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coyotes de Sonora's protests and gave Prospero Dacio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Prospero Dacio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Evaristo Lico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Hitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severiano Azibar having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Lico in the 45th minute of play forced Claraz's goalkeeper Severiano Azibar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47thth minute of the game Evaristo Lico who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Claraz's Severiano Azibar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half Coyotes de Sonora were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evaristo Lico to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evaristo Lico got free with Severiano Azibar in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Evaristo Lico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coyotes de Sonora's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Lico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severiano Azibar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Prospero Dacio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severiano Azibar having to interfere. If Vicente Tabby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evaristo Lico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Severiano Azibar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Diego Hitz came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Coyotes de Sonora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Hitz couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the match, Coyotes de Sonora's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Tabby came free, but Nunez Todor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes in the game, Evaristo Lico fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Severiano Azibar having to interfere. With a little luck, Claraz's Severiano Azibar got control of the ball when Evaristo Lico tried to sneak it across the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, Claraz's goal looked a bit too open when Prospero Dacio came free, but Severiano Azibar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Coyotes de Sonora's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
