Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) If Gonzalo Gaztea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Americo Erruki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Bidari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gonzalo Gaztea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Americo Erruki having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Melquiades Abarca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristo Bidari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Americo Erruki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Montes got free with Everardo Senen in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Everardo Senen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Abeijon in the 24th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Melquiades Abarca during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Chacarita booed when Atahualpa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Abarca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Americo Erruki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Bilbo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 31st match minute, Atahualpa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amancio Abeijon to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Atahualpa's zone, Gonzalo Gaztea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Americo Erruki came out of the goal and Gonzalo Gaztea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute, Tobias Bilbo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Everardo Senen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amancio Abeijon's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Gonzalo Gaztea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chacarita's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonzalo Gaztea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Americo Erruki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Everardo Senen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Abeijon in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amancio Abeijon was the one to do the kick off. Rosendo Savier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Atahualpa's Americo Erruki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Gaztea in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Tobias Bilbo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Americo Erruki. Atahualpa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tobias Bilbo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Adolfo Ondino's late challenge caught a Chacarita's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Ondino helped the player get up and apologised. After 62 played minutes Atahualpa got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Ondino. After having played for 62 minutes, Gonzalo Gaztea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chacarita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonzalo Gaztea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Tobias Bilbo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Atahualpa's Americo Erruki. Americo Erruki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tobias Bilbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Atahualpa's zone, Gonzalo Gaztea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Americo Erruki came out of the goal and Gonzalo Gaztea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atahualpa's Americo Erruki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Atahualpa from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Chacarita could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Atahualpa throughout the match.
