After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Luciano Ihazintu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Irigoyen's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Ihazintu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delmiro Romano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Luciano Ihazintu came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Irigoyen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Ihazintu couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Otsando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luciano Ihazintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nestor Artal was a little too slow when Edgardo Sabino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 2-0. After 25 played minutes Yatay FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Bartoleme. Edgardo Sabino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nestor Artal came out and tried to block the shot, but Edgardo Sabino slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 32nd minute. 36 minutes into the match, Edgardo Sabino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nestor Artal, 4-0. Luciano Ihazintu struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Delmiro Romano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irigoyen. In the 44th minute, Alfredo Otsando made a precise shot to the right of Delmiro Romano. Yatay FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgardo Sabino made a kick off. Alfredo Otsando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Delmiro Romano made a huge save. If Alfredo Otsando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Otsandos short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Delmiro Romano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Irigoyen's Luciano Ihazintu in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yatay FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Yatay FC's Leonides Bartoleme got a free kick in the 67th minute. Alfredo Otsando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Delmiro Romano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Otsando in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Delmiro Romano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpected shot in the 85th minute by Luciano Ihazintu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
