Blas Gomez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Olentzaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Rogelio Mambru came out of the goal and Albino Montrel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Albino Montrel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Mambru having to interfere. After 43 minutes of play, Russell's Ismael Reno made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rogelio Mambru was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The wind increased when Rodrigo Olentzaro made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jonathan Jenaro had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Rodrigo Olentzaro fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Amistad FC's protests and gave Rodrigo Olentzaro a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Amistad FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Olentzaro. Albino Montrel struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Rogelio Mambru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Russell. Russell's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
