Ulises Estebano charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After some careless play in the Merayo defense, Jaime Caradaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Genaro Columbo. The Merayo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genaro Columbo should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Despeñaderos FC's Pastor Resto got control of the ball when Moises Ekain tried to sneak it across the goal line. Despeñaderos FC's Jaime Caradaro got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benigno Goito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Pastor Resto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
