When Freddy Lopes fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yaretayo's protests and gave Freddy Lopes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Yaretayo getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Freddy Lopes hit a great ball. In the 12th match minute, Avellaneda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateo Danel to maneuver through the defense. Yaretayo's Baldomiro Loco shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 12th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nicasio Francis but with some difficulty. Nicolas Firmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Roland in the 14th minute of play. Ruben Eguzki in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nicasio Francis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Yaretayo booed when Avellaneda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Salbatore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicasio Francis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruben Eguzki in the 32nd minute. In the 36th minute of the match, Donato Bautista tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nicasio Francis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Donato Bautista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Avellaneda booed when Yaretayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Behe didn't get a good kick on the ball. 48 minutes into the game, Mateo Danel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nicolas Firmo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Nunez Leizarraga made the kick off in the second half. After 64 played minutes Yaretayo got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Lopes. In the 66th minute, Freddy Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Higinio Estefan in the 66th minute really tested Nicolas Firmo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donato Bautista in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicasio Francis saved Avellaneda from getting behind. After having played for 69 minutes, Ruben Eguzki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yaretayo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruben Eguzki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Yaretayo booed when Avellaneda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Gombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolas Firmo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuel Roland in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Bautista in the 78th minute of play forced Avellaneda's goalkeeper Nicasio Francis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Roland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Firmo having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Ruben Eguzki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicasio Francis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 90 minutes, Zacarias Lartaun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yaretayo and the Avellaneda players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Nunez Leizarraga came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Avellaneda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nunez Leizarraga couldn't finish the play. If Ruben Eguzki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
