After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cordobita! Omar Quintun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Florinio having to interfere. Arnoldo Florinio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliciano Lapurdi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damaso Hulberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicanor Velasco in the 23rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Puerta's zone, Godfredo Jurgi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damaso Hulberto came out of the goal and Godfredo Jurgi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Cordobita's Claudio Beltran got a free kick in the 26th minute. Arnoldo Florinio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliciano Lapurdi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Nicanor Velasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th minute Godfredo Jurgi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damaso Hulberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damaso Hulberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfredo Jurgi in the 45th minute of play. When Serafin Galsino fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Puerta's protests and gave Serafin Galsino a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cordobita booed when Puerta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafin Galsino didn't get a good kick on the ball.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliciano Lapurdi made a kick off. If Omar Quintun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Omar Quintun managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puerta's supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Quintun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnoldo Florinio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silvio Ekhi kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Cordobita's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Quintun came free, but Arnoldo Florinio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 98 minutes into the match, Omar Quintun notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cordobita's Arnoldo Florinio. Arnoldo Florinio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
