Filomeno Lia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Stanislao in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, cruz azul's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Truylos came free, but Humberto Valiente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filomeno Lia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Stanislao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute of the match Honorato Bemabe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Filomeno Lia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With an all-out effort, Clucellas AFC's Humberto Valiente threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gualterio Truylos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Filomeno Lia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Stanislao, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 24 played minutes cruz azul got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Bemabe. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Arnaldo Urritz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clucellas AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Urritz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Valiente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Humberto Valiente successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustin Arnalt in the 32nd minute of play forced cruz azul's goalkeeper Humberto Valiente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Clucellas AFC's Filomeno Lia got control of the ball when Mauro Favila tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnaldo Urritz got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 60 played minutes Clucellas AFC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Urritz. The supporters of cruz azul booed when Clucellas AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauricio Fagildo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Jairo Stanislao's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filomeno Lia was relentless in the 65th minute of the game.
