The supporters of Peña FC booed when Plátanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariel Bernat didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Peña FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Pudes came free, but Godfredo Garaona reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Peña FC's Camilo Abechuco got a free kick in the 13th minute. When Joaquin Selatse fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Plátanos's protests and gave Joaquin Selatse a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, Joaquin Selatse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tiburcio Meder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peña FC's Melquiades Francesco got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaime Savier took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gerardo Gartzi. Plátanos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Ovidio Quinten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erubiel Panpili received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gerardo Gartzi came out and tried to block the shot, but Erubiel Panpili slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 29th minute. Gerardo Gartzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erubiel Panpili, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 36th minute, Joaquin Selatse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Peña FC's zone, Leon Pudes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godfredo Garaona came out of the goal and Leon Pudes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Gerardo Gartzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erubiel Panpili, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Erubiel Panpili's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerardo Gartzi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Peña FC's Godfredo Garaona proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Peña FC from getting a goal against them. If Tiburcio Meder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Plátanos's attack was well implemented in the 62nd minute, but when Leon Pudes was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Godfredo Garaona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Pudes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 73 minutes into the match, Peña FC's goalkeeper Godfredo Garaona had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiburcio Meder. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ovidio Quinten in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerardo Gartzi saved Plátanos from getting behind. In the 84th minute, Erubiel Panpili made a precise shot to the right of Gerardo Gartzi. Plátanos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Tiburcio Meder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godfredo Garaona having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Camilo Abechuco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leon Pudes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Godfredo Garaona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Peña FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
