Prospero Tavio hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Galsino in the 11th minute of play forced GÜERNICA's goalkeeper Gilberto Tiso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, GÜERNICA's Honorato Lluis got a free kick in the 13th minute. 1-0 became the score in the 17th minute when Lázaro Galsino elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Gallos Temax's Ernesto Bortzaioriz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilberto Tiso. That made the score 2-0 after 19 minutes of play. In the 28th minute Pascual Miliano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Memo Ochoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Prospero Tavio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Memo Ochoa having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, GÜERNICA's goalkeeper Gilberto Tiso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernesto Bortzaioriz. 36 minutes into the match, GÜERNICA's goal looked a bit too open when Lázaro Galsino came free, but Gilberto Tiso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. GÜERNICA's Gilberto Tiso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save GÜERNICA from getting a goal against them. After having played for 38 minutes, Ernesto Bortzaioriz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gallos Temax's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Bortzaioriz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lázaro Galsino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gilberto Tiso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Memo Ochoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustaquio Seguinus, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pascual Miliano was the one to do the kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Gallos Temax's goal looked a bit too open when Pascual Miliano came free, but Memo Ochoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Galsino in the 63rd minute of play forced GÜERNICA's goalkeeper Gilberto Tiso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 70 minutes on the clock, Zeledon Bero commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Zeledon Bero hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The GÜERNICA fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when GÜERNICA's Eustaquio Seguinus looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in GÜERNICA's zone, Ernesto Bortzaioriz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Tiso came out of the goal and Ernesto Bortzaioriz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84thth minute of the game Ernesto Bortzaioriz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GÜERNICA's Gilberto Tiso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Ernesto Bortzaioriz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Tiso was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Ernesto Bortzaioriz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Tiso having to interfere. If Cleto Confesor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Angelino Lugo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gallos Temax fully deserved thier win.
