In the 10th minute Isidoro Tristan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Txilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Pipinas's Baldomero Orixe got control of the ball when Melquiades Quirce tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Benavides defense, Isidoro Tristan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anselmo Txilar. The Benavides fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anselmo Txilar should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isidoro Tristan to make the kick off. In the 56th minute Isidoro Tristan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Txilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pipinas's Baldomero Orixe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Jenaro in the 63rd minute of play. After 70 minutes of play, Benavides's Melquiades Quirce made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baldomero Orixe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Baldomero Orixe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Quirce, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Benavides's goalkeeper Anselmo Txilar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maximiliano Gartzea charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After having played for 95 minutes, Isidoro Tristan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pipinas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidoro Tristan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Pipinas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pipinas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
