Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Virgilio Iratxo made the kick off which started today's match. Club America's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Cesar Semeno scored to the left of an out of position Silvestre Richie, making the score, 1-0. Silvestre Richie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Timo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Danilo Massa notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Correas's Apolo Xabat. Apolo Xabat was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Club America were furious when Aureliano Liberto was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Aureliano Liberto hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Dante Silban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Correas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dante Silban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute Inocencio Chucho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvestre Richie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Inocencio Chucho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Correas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Chucho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Club America's goalkeeper Silvestre Richie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mauro Primeiro. Cesar Semeno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Silvestre Richie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Correas's Inocencio Chucho got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Danilo Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club America's supporters rose to their feet, but Danilo Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apolo Xabat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Honorato Timo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvestre Richie was a little too slow when Inocencio Chucho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 3-1. Silvestre Richie acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 48th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Zeledon Munio. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Honorato Timo to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Club America's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Primeiro came free, but Silvestre Richie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Mauro Primeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvestre Richie was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Danilo Massa struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Apolo Xabat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club America. 60 minutes into the match, Club America's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Primeiro came free, but Silvestre Richie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Honorato Timo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Correas's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorato Timo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvestre Richie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cesar Semeno hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Silvestre Richie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Timo in the 74th minute of play. Silvestre Richie came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Correas's Honorato Timo. But to his dismay, Honorato Timo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. After a defensive mix-up in Club America's zone, Inocencio Chucho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvestre Richie came out of the goal and Inocencio Chucho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Correas were the better team. Correas's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
