Alfredo Baristo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Rodrigo Darien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Aurelio Oroitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Ieltxu in the 46th minute of play forced Campana FC's goalkeeper Enrique Celio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Melquiades Heli was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Edgardo Hegoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Melquiades Heli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Celio having to interfere. Rodrigo Darien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Baristo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Pilar AFC booed when Campana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Nafarroa didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Melquiades Heli in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Celio saved Campana FC from getting behind. In the 65th minute Melquiades Heli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Celio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciro Txartiko charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciro Txartiko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pilar AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Rodrigo Darien, was totally fooled by Campana FC's Santos Mano, who 71 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Omar Garin kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Placido Cresconio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A hard shot 79 in the game by Aurelio Oroitz from a close distance when the talented Rodrigo Darien managed to make a qualified save. Pilar AFC's players were relieved. When Diego Marz fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pilar AFC's protests and gave Diego Marz a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Placido Cresconio during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Campana FC a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Santos Mano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pilar AFC's Rodrigo Darien. 0-2. German Nafarroa struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Rodrigo Darien didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campana FC. In the 90th minute, German Nafarroa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Campana FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Enrique Celio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Heli, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The Campana FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Campana FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
