Florentino Matia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Berdaitz in the 18th minute of play. Patricio Cordarin struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Samuel Jacindo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PSG. In the 31st minute, Joaquin Toro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The coaching staff of PSG protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Damaso Pedroso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Denis Cordaro, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
