Niceto Abadia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Celestino Basajaun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute of the match Anselmo Enetz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adolfo Misael skillfully saved the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Norberto Baumer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adolfo Misael. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. When Norberto Baumer came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Lafontaine FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Baumer couldn't finish the play. Adolfo Misael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Javiero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the game, Esteban Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos Laguna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lafontaine FC the free kick. The supporters of Lafontaine FC booed when Santos Laguna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Daniel Chale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Daniel Chale left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santos Laguna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 44 minutes into the match, Lafontaine FC's goal looked a bit too open when Niceto Abadia came free, but Celestino Basajaun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislao Javiero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Adolfo Misael stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ladislao Javiero's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Melquiades Sadurni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norberto Baumer struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Adolfo Misael didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lafontaine FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Norberto Baumer in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolfo Misael saved Santos Laguna from getting behind. Norberto Baumer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the match, Santos Laguna's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Javiero came free, but Adolfo Misael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lafontaine FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
