Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Piquirenda's Benito Columbo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Formosa FC's zone, Fernando Edwardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Constantino Weather came out of the goal and Fernando Edwardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 6 played minutes Piquirenda got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Niguel. Hermengildo Salvadore took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Esteve Jerano. Piquirenda's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Formosa FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Adriana Vedillo hit a great ball. If Dionisio Felo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteve Jerano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Obeko, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Fernando Edwardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Constantino Weather tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patricio Obeko in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esteve Jerano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fernando Edwardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Weather having to interfere. Benito Columbo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Weather having to interfere. If Benito Columbo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee ignored Piquirenda's protests and gave Gustavo Niguel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Piquirenda getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Gustavo Niguel hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patricio Obeko made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Modesto Lander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formosa FC and the Piquirenda players grew even worse after the yellow card. Constantino Weather made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Fernando Edwardo sent off a good shot on target. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 58th minute, but Constantino Weather got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Formosa FC hanging dry this time. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Fernando Edwardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piquirenda's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Edwardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Constantino Weather breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Constantino Weather made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Columbo in the 64th minute of play. Piquirenda's Esteve Jerano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Felo in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Patricio Obeko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Formosa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Obeko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
