In the 7th minute Felipe Abeita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Hermelando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cleto Mergildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicasio Locaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florencio Casomiro kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ojinaga Chihuahua's Eustacio Nafarroa got a free kick in the 12th minute. Felipe Abeita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raimundo Hermelando having to make a save. Cleto Mergildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustacio Nafarroa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Felipe Abeita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonides Iturri hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Cleto Mergildo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicasio Locaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Felipe Abeita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Raimundo Hermelando. Felipe Abeita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Ojinaga Chihuahua getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Nicasio Locaio hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipe Abeita to make the kick off.
