The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Nicolas Fagondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nestor Gregory got in the 8th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Luciano Esiquio and thus it was 1-0. Saverio Nastasio kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Pastor Formerio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Población AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pastor Formerio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Pastor Formerio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gilberto Cayo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gerardo Guillem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Población AFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Godfredo Salomon hit a great ball. Gerardo Guillem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Esiquio having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Población AFC's Basilio Edur got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute of the match Nestor Gregory shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luciano Esiquio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Gogo Oxarra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Población AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gogo Oxarra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Pastor Formerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gogo Oxarra in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Cayo saved Alsina from getting behind. In the 62nd minute Pastor Formerio suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 62nd minute of the game. One of Alsina:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Población AFC:s goal. Pascual Oriol shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 68th minute Gogo Oxarra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Cayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gogo Oxarra in the 72nd minute of play forced Alsina's goalkeeper Gilberto Cayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Basilio Edur came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Población AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basilio Edur couldn't finish the play. Gogo Oxarra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Gilberto Cayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Población AFC's Saverio Bilintx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Cayo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gilberto Cayo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Oxarra in the 81st minute of the match. Gerardo Guillem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Luciano Esiquio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gogo Oxarra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Cayo having to interfere. In the 94th minute, one of Alsina:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Alsina. In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Población AFC. Pascual Oriol stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gilberto Cayo. 2-2.
