Salvador Frederik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Benavídez defense, Hector Liher kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Gerazan. The Benavídez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Gerazan should have stopped the shot. Benavídez's Salvador Frederik got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hector Liher in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Gerazan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pedro Eguzki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Celso Benvido made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Barraquero's Domingo Vistruario got a free kick in the 26th minute. Hector Liher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Gerazan having to interfere. Pedro Eguzki's late challenge caught a Barraquero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Eguzki helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Barraquero booed when Benavídez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Eguzki didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Justino Ugaitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan Gerazan was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. In the 37th minute, Justino Ugaitz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barraquero fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The wind increased when Salvador Frederik made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Benavídez's Juan Gerazan got control of the ball when Justino Ugaitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Eguzki kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Javier Mateus hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Hector Liher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salvador Frederik might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celso Benvido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Salvador Frederik ran back to his position shaking his head. Juan Gerazan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Justino Ugaitz in the 84th minute. Celso Benvido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Frederik, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barraquero's goalkeeper Celso Benvido, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Benavídez's goalkeeper Juan Gerazan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Justino Ugaitz. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justino Ugaitz got free with Juan Gerazan in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Barraquero supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Barraquero would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
