The supporters of Merlo booed when Medinas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleto Mendiko didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Merlo's zone, Modesto Mercurio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Cleto Mendiko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Medinas's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleto Mendiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aristides Bihar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zacarias Rumaldo struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bonifacio Cordeiro in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pablo Harkaitz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arnulfo Ur kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eustacio Valerio during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Merlo getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Eustacio Valerio hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the game, Zacarias Rumaldo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Aristides Bihar. Zacarias Rumaldo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 55 played minutes, Medinas's Esteban Umbruso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aristides Bihar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Medinas reached it. Medinas's Pablo Harkaitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Medinas from getting a goal against them.
