Sampacho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amílton Alcântara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alonzo Cuarto was the one to do the kick off. Amílton Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Venancio Hernando having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Alonzo Cuarto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sampacho's Venancio Hernando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melchor Mel in the 55th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Amílton Alcântara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Venancio Hernando was relentless in the 57th minute of the game.
