The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute Diego Corderro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Unai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jairo Mantzio during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Recreo AFC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Jairo Mantzio hit a great ball. Victorio Unai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Corderro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But to his dismay, Diego Corderro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Guido Ipar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Eliseo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Edelmiro Baristo fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Recreo AFC's protests and gave Edelmiro Baristo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Recreo AFC's Edelmiro Baristo got a free kick in the 30th minute. Domingo Porfiro hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Victorio Unai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Corderro in the 34th minute of play. Edelmiro Baristo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidoro Conrao having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Atletico Gelones FC got a freekick which was hit by Americo Niva. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diego Corderro to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Atletico Gelones FC were awarded a corner. Americo Niva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Victorio Unai when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Venancio Afonso hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. If Edelmiro Baristo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Americo Niva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Victorio Unai made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Americo Niva got free with Victorio Unai in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guido Ipar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Atletico Gelones FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Recreo AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
