The supporters of Lanús booed when Hermitaños FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Iago didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute Hipolito Amor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Evangelista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas Sein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Evangelista having to interfere. When Hipolito Amor came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Lanús fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hipolito Amor couldn't finish the play. Augusto Hondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Severo Evangelista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Hondo in the 16th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Augusto Hondo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severo Evangelista was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. If Hipolito Amor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hipolito Amor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Evangelista having to interfere. Hipolito Amor might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severo Evangelista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hipolito Amor ran back to his position shaking his head. Severo Evangelista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Hondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Severo Evangelista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hipolito Amor's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hipolito Amor in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severo Evangelista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Severo Evangelista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Hondo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lanús's Hipolito Amor got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severo Evangelista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Hondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Hipolito Amor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amancio Balesio to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Lanús's Baldomiro Jax got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute of the match, Augusto Hondo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Severo Evangelista was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Augusto Hondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Hondo got free with Severo Evangelista in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute Hipolito Amor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Evangelista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hipolito Amor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Severo Evangelista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severo Evangelista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hipolito Amor's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Lanús's Hipolito Amor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severo Evangelista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Severo Evangelista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augusto Hondo in the 71st minute. Hermitaños FC's Severo Evangelista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hipolito Amor in the 75th minute of play. Ramon Iago kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Severo Evangelista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hipolito Amor in the 79th minute of play. Augusto Hondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hipolito Amor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severo Evangelista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Hipolito Amor got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 94 minutes into the game, Baldomiro Jax recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Severo Evangelista. Baldomiro Jax showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Lanús played a much better game than Hermitaños FC and deserved their victory. The Hermitaños FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
