Orugas Eunucas's Clemente Chano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Lawrence in the 16th minute of play. After 17 minutes of play, Orugas Eunucas's Melquiades Boniel made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carmelo Sugar was left in no man's land by his defense there! With 21 minutes on the clock, Agustin Ciano commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 20th minute, one of Orugas Eunucas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Orugas Eunucas. After 24 minutes, Vladimiro Tabby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orugas Eunucas and the C.F. Monterrey players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Orugas Eunucas's Vladimiro Tabby got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, C.F. Monterrey's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Melquiades Boniel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Cipriano Frutos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes C.F. Monterrey got a freekick which was hit by Modesto Deunoro. C.F. Rolando Bilintx's late challenge caught a Orugas Eunucas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcos Lawrence was the one to do the kick off.
