Andres Matro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Corderun having to interfere. Andres Rafel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Carmelo Sugar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carmelo Sugar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorio Claude in the 12th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Andres Rafel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carmelo Sugar. C.F. Monterrey's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andres Rafel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.F. Monterrey's goalkeeper Carmelo Sugar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 21 minutes, Rolando Bilintx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.F. Monterrey and the Jagüel players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Jagüel booed when C.F. Monterrey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolando Bilintx didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gregorio Claude struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Carmelo Sugar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jagüel. In the 33rd minute Andres Rafel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Sugar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Jagüel's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Lawrence came free, but Florencio Corderun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andres Matro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Florencio Corderun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. If Marcos Lawrence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregorio Claude was the one to do the kick off. Joaquin Ruisko hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Gregorio Claude struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Carmelo Sugar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jagüel. If Gregorio Claude had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andres Rafel got free with Carmelo Sugar in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Marcos Lawrence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florencio Corderun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Andres Matro managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.F. Monterrey's supporters rose to their feet, but Andres Matro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florencio Corderun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ramiro Marques fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jagüel's protests and gave Ramiro Marques a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Jagüel fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! The referee gave C.F. Monterrey a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lucio Azubeli, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Jagüel's Florencio Corderun. 3-1. If Marcos Lawrence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Lawrence recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gregorio Claude received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carmelo Sugar came out and tried to block the shot, but Gregorio Claude slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 94th minute. Gregorio Claude fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Sugar having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. C.F. Monterrey were victorious despite being under pressure from Jagüel for much of the match.
