In the 35th minute of the match, Filiberto Vermudo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tiburcio Mel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 36 minutes into the game, Siro Sanson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pocitos AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cosme the free kick. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiburcio Mel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tiburcio Mel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niceto Froylan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiburcio Mel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niceto Froylan, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Vermudo in the 87th minute of play forced Pocitos AFC's goalkeeper Tiburcio Mel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
