In the 5th minute, Serafino Gonza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Serafin Urdin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eduardo Gaizko was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. In the 13th match minute, CRUZ AZUL 19 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Mazuste to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute Santiago Ferrando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Flor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Flor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristides Pancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Monroe's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Presebal came free, but Benjamin Flor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mateo Presebal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Flor having to interfere. CRUZ AZUL 19's Aristides Pancho got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When CRUZ AZUL 19's Mateo Presebal in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Monroe's Serafin Urdin was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 44th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mateo Presebal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to CRUZ AZUL 19 getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Santiago Ferrando hit a great ball. Damian Hitzeder blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eduardo Gaizko having to make a save. After having played for 85 minutes, Damian Hitzeder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monroe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damian Hitzeder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mateo Presebal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benjamin Flor came out and tried to block the shot, but Mateo Presebal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 89th minute. 92 minutes into the game, Miguel Mazuste was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CRUZ AZUL 19's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monroe the free kick. After a rather tough play, CRUZ AZUL 19's Miguel Mazuste got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
