The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Dubardo in the 3rd minute of play forced LEONES F.C.'s goalkeeper Emilio Gudesteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leo Ieltxu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Severo Iraitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Mikeldi having to interfere. Emilio Gudesteo came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Baigorrita AFC's Ignacio Loiola. But to his dismay, Ignacio Loiola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Leo Ieltxu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Mikeldi having to make a save. In the 27th minute Leo Ieltxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Mikeldi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Astor Kemen came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the LEONES F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Astor Kemen couldn't finish the play. Emilio Gudesteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Loiola in the 33rd minute of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Leo Ieltxu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LEONES F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Ieltxu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emilio Gudesteo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Obeko, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. With 48 minutes on the clock, Joaquin Eskuin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Joaquin Eskuin hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erasmo Obeko to make the kick off. Severo Iraitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celedonio Odol hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. LEONES F.C.'s Emilio Gudesteo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save LEONES F.C. from getting a goal against them. Manuel Mikeldi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Astor Kemen, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The supporters of LEONES F.C. booed when Baigorrita AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacio Loiola didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Teofilo Dubardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Mikeldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saul Licerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Mikeldi came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by LEONES F.C.'s Saul Licerio. But to his dismay, Saul Licerio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Loiola in the 92nd minute of play forced LEONES F.C.'s goalkeeper Emilio Gudesteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Ignacio Loiola notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of LEONES F.C.'s Emilio Gudesteo. Emilio Gudesteo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
