Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jose Oalo got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of Gaviotas booed when Elisa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Artal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elvio Cordarrol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Canor having to interfere. In the 11th of the match, Eulalio Lizbeth tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Carmelo Canor got in the way and made a wonderful save. Gaviotas's Eulalio Lizbeth got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eulalio Lizbeth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elvio Cordarrol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carmelo Canor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gaviotas's Enzo Ongile got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute, Jose Oalo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Jose Oalo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan Gartzi was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Elvio Cordarrol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Canor having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Jose Oalo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Juan Gartzi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Elvio Cordarrol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Elvio Cordarrol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaviotas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elvio Cordarrol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eulalio Lizbeth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Gaviotas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Elisa were winning 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eulalio Lizbeth was the one to do the kick off. If Eulalio Lizbeth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Eulalio Lizbeth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaviotas's supporters rose to their feet, but Eulalio Lizbeth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carmelo Canor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carmelo Canor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Cordarrol, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Jose Oalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Gartzi having to interfere. Fermin Firmin hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Gaviotas's Juan Gartzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Oalo in the 66th minute of play. Lino Jusepe took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carmelo Canor. Elisa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dionisio Lucado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Gaviotas getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Casimiro Edur hit a great ball. Dionisio Lucado kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 77thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Gaviotas's keeper Juan Gartzi was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Jose Oalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Juan Gartzi made a huge save. 85 minutes into the match, Gaviotas's goalkeeper Juan Gartzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dionisio Lucado. Gaviotas's Juan Gartzi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Gaviotas from getting a goal against them. When Elvio Cordarrol came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Gaviotas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elvio Cordarrol couldn't finish the play. The Elisa supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Elisa would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
