Francisco Llorenc lost his temper 4 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Balbastro FC! Daniel Matai shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Arnaldo Jaume fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Donzel having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Mendiko got free with Cleto Donzel in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Chayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Matai, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 24 minutes, Arnaldo Jaume mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balbastro FC and the Candelaria players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gonzalo Senio hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Balbastro FC's Cristian Chayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Matai in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Balbastro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Octavio Ramone came free, but Cristian Chayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Candelaria booed when Balbastro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Jaume didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cleto Donzel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Marcones in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

A collision led to Candelaria getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Generoso Pepillo hit a great ball. Emilio Mendiko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Donzel having to interfere. Cleto Donzel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Mendiko in the 55th minute of the match. Arnaldo Jaume sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Conrado Matai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. David Abad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Cristian Chayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conrado Matai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilio Mendiko couldn't finish the play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
