The crowd rose to their feet as Pagancillo's Paulo Gauargi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnulfo Frutos. That made the score 1-0 after 29 minutes of play. If Paulo Gauargi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Gauargi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnulfo Frutos having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Pagancillo's Paulo Gauargi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnulfo Frutos. Arnulfo Frutos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 46th minute, Paulo Gauargi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gabriel Mincho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Gauargi was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Saturnino Oliveiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Herensuge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Camilo Erramun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Pagancillo's Melchor Izotz got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Acosta's goalkeeper Arnulfo Frutos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnino Oliveiro couldn't finish the play. Arnulfo Frutos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Gauargi in the 80th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Mincho in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnulfo Frutos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Acosta booed when Pagancillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Gauargi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Gauargi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnulfo Frutos having to interfere. Paulo Gauargi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Gauargi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnulfo Frutos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that Pagancillo were the better team. Pagancillo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
