The shot was a little too simple and Erubiel Ospin could save by the left post. With a little luck, Derqui's Erubiel Ospin got control of the ball when Tiburcio Cristofol tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robustiano Azubeli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erubiel Ospin having to interfere. Efrain Santio hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Tiburcio Cristofol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Tiburcio Cristofol could shoot a difficult shot in the 13th minute, which Erubiel Ospin however easily saved by the left post. If Honorato Innocenzio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Honorato Innocenzio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erubiel Ospin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiburcio Cristofol in the 20th minute. Feliberto Vergaray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Innocenzio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute, Honorato Innocenzio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Feliberto Vergaray was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Erubiel Ospin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robustiano Azubeli in the 34th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Derqui's Efrain Santio got a free kick in the 36th minute. Erubiel Ospin was a little too slow when Tiburcio Cristofol got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jaramillo's goalkeeper Feliberto Vergaray, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Honorato Innocenzio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robustiano Azubeli was the one to do the kick off. When Honorato Innocenzio came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Derqui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Honorato Innocenzio couldn't finish the play. After 53 minutes, Ignacio Inge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Derqui and the Jaramillo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 53 played minutes Derqui got a freekick which was hit by Ignacio Inge. Erubiel Ospin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiburcio Cristofol in the 55th minute of the match. If Robustiano Azubeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliberto Vergaray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorato Innocenzio in the 63rd minute of the match. Jaramillo's Tiburcio Cristofol got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erubiel Ospin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Feliberto Vergaray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Innocenzio in the 75th minute of play. Derqui's Honorato Innocenzio was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 76th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Honorato Innocenzio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Feliberto Vergaray. That made the score 2-3 in the 91 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Derqui's Ignacio Inge got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 97th minute of the match Jaramillo got a corner. Derqui's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredo Tebaldo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Jaramillo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Derqui's performance. The match ended with a win for Derqui.
