With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudio Mero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes into the match, Ibahay's goal looked a bit too open when Blas Pacorro came free, but Claudio Mero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 38 minutes, Zenon Porajewski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Union and the Ibahay players grew even worse after the yellow card.
