When Nunez Urbes fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merlo FC's protests and gave Nunez Urbes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, one of Merlo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Merlo FC. Gaston Katias short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Mario Illan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Godofredo Diegotxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robustiano Emesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Prudencio Roderigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godofredo Diegotxe having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Guido Galtero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Godofredo Diegotxe. Capivara FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guido Galtero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. When Merlo FC's Robustiano Emesto in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Capivara FC's goalie prevented a goal. Gaston Katia was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaston Katia made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Merlo FC got a freekick which was hit by Cecilio Lano. The supporters of Capivara FC booed when Merlo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Emesto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Godofredo Diegotxe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Prudencio Roderigo in the 57th minute. Godofredo Diegotxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Emesto in the 65th minute of play. Gaston Katia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Illan having to interfere. Gaston Katia scored 2-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mario Illan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Esteban Veto's late challenge caught a Merlo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esteban Veto helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Capivara FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Esteban Veto hit a great ball. Gabriel Loi struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Mario Illan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capivara FC. 84 minutes into the match, Gaston Katia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Illan. Merlo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaston Katia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. 3-3 became the score in the 89th minute when Robustiano Emesto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, Capivara FC's Gaston Katia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mario Illan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
