Benigno Egun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nestor Claude in the 24th minute. Aquilino Sabin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Gilen, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Gaudencio Mikelar managed to get in a good position for a shot. When Eulalio Gilen came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Futbol Club Sonora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eulalio Gilen couldn't finish the play. After 56 played minutes Gaypón AFC got a freekick which was hit by Silvano Xacintu. Silvano Xacintu kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 69thth minute of the game Eulalio Gilen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gaypón AFC's Aquilino Sabin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Futbol Club Sonora's Benigno Egun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Orland in the 71st minute of play. Ramon Mede charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramon Mede the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 72 minutes into the game, one of Futbol Club Sonora:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Benigno Egun had in the 74thth minute some difficulties stopping Marco Gaitan's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 75th minute Gaypón AFC were awarded a corner. Marco Gaitan went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Futbol Club Sonora's goalie and right to Pedro Galeno. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Futbol Club Sonora's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 78th match minute, Gaypón AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venancio Orland to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the match, Gaypón AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Eskuin came free, but Aquilino Sabin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaudencio Mikelar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aquilino Sabin having to make a save.
