After 4 played minutes, Ibarlucea's Ramon Fanuco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Siro Iturri came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ibarlucea reached it. Mario Baladi might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Siro Iturri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mario Baladi ran back to his position shaking his head. Mauro Silvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Liberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Siro Iturri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Argi in the 14th minute of play. Mario Baladi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Siro Iturri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mauro Silvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Liberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Ibarlucea's Urbano Argenis pulled a muscle in his leg after 24 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hilario Argi during the 26th minute. When Mario Baladi came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ibarlucea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mario Baladi couldn't finish the play. In the 40thth minute of the game Mario Baladi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tabacal AFC's Siro Iturri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mario Baladi to strike the kick off in the second half. Ibarlucea's Mauro Silvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adan Liberto in the 51st minute of play. The Ibarlucea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro Silvino should have stopped the shot.
