After 7 played minutes Ciénaga got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Giraldo. The supporters of Ciénaga booed when Canaca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingos Thomas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Aztore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eleuterio Gabino's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Rafael Sauveur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sixto Gonsalvo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 played minutes Ciénaga got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Giraldo. Domingos Thomas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 22nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Rafael Sauveur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixto Gonsalvo in the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Ciénaga's goalkeeper Rafael Sauveur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Honorio Neron. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eleuterio Gabino in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Aztore prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 34 minutes, David Urbez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canaca FC and the Ciénaga players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sixto Gonsalvo in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Sauveur prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Canaca FC's Honorio Neron got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Leon Rami hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sixto Gonsalvo to make the kick off. Eleuterio Gabino struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Martin Aztore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciénaga. Bernabe Sanson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Martin Aztore made a huge save. Eleuterio Gabino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Martin Aztore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernabe Sanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Aztore having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Ciénaga's Eleuterio Gabino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in Canaca FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Martin Aztore, was totally fooled by Ciénaga's Lucio Pacifico, who 74 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Ciénaga's Leon Rami got a free kick in the 77th minute. The audience was convinced that Sixto Gonsalvo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rafael Sauveur was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eleuterio Gabino in the 82nd minute of play forced Canaca FC's goalkeeper Martin Aztore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ciénaga walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
