Jairo Benvide's late challenge caught a Caroya's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jairo Benvide helped the player get up and apologised. With a little luck, Caroya's Andres Bernad got control of the ball when Ovidio Silvino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Clemente Eneas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Ovando in the 26th minute of play. Clemente Eneas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Elodio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clemente Eneas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Elodio, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Astor Totakoxe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres Bernad read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Caroya were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Astor Totakoxe made the kick off in the second half. Astor Totakoxe charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Astor Totakoxe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 54th match minute, Tormento Azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astor Totakoxe to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute Fausto Elodio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Eneas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tormento Azul's Clemente Eneas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Tormento Azul from getting a goal against them. In the 76th match minute, Caroya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geronimo Calixto to maneuver through the defense. Ovidio Silvino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Andres Bernad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 79 minutes of play Tormento Azul's Luis Matei was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Caroya booed when Tormento Azul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Matei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Domingos Ovando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Eneas having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Fausto Elodio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caroya's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Elodio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Eneas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
