Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Popoy's zone, Gogo Txatxu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Jaunti came out of the goal and Gogo Txatxu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rolando Cebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 11th minute, Gogo Txatxu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luján fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Guaberto Playo fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luján's protests and gave Guaberto Playo a yellow card for diving instead. Guaberto Playo hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Popoy's Armando Jaunti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Cebo in the 17th minute of play. After 22 played minutes Popoy got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Gilen. 24 minutes into the match, Luján's Gogo Txatxu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armando Jaunti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Placido Paul succeeded in the game's 27th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. Armando Jaunti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gogo Txatxu's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. When Rolando Cebo came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Luján fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolando Cebo couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Cristo Bilintx managed to get in a good position for a shot. Popoy's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristo Bilintx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeo Mikelar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute of the match, Cristo Bilintx tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Amadeo Mikelar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Cristo Bilintx came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Popoy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristo Bilintx couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute, Placido Paul left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Popoy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gogo Txatxu to strike the kick off in the second half. Iker Abaunza took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Armando Jaunti. The Popoy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armando Jaunti should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Rolando Cebo took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Armando Jaunti to make any attempt to save it. In the 74th minute Primitivo Ascencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Mikelar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeo Mikelar came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Popoy's Martin Arotza. But to his dismay, Martin Arotza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. Popoy's Armando Jaunti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Txatxu in the 84th minute of play. Cristo Bilintx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeo Mikelar having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Martin Arotza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Popoy's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Arotza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeo Mikelar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Placido Paul in the 96th minute of play forced Luján's goalkeeper Amadeo Mikelar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Luján supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Luján would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
