The referee ignored Ávalos's protests and gave Albano Oliverio a yellow card for diving instead. Albano Oliverio kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. A collision led to Ávalos getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Evaristo Nayely hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Baldomiro Guib got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Escalada's goal looked a bit too open when Apolo Brais came free, but Fabio Iago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Samuel Egoitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severo Honesto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Fabio Iago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Apolo Brais to make the kick off. A collision led to Ávalos getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Evaristo Nayely hit a great ball. In the 55th minute, Filomeno Oihenarte sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ávalos's Bernardino Kepa didn't even have to move. 58 minutes into the game, Escalada's Bruno Quin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardino Kepa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 66th match minute, Escalada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Egoitz to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute, Escalada's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Severo Honesto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Ávalos's Cleto Perez got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Severo Honesto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Fabio Iago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Escalada supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ávalos's performance. The match ended with a win for Ávalos.
