After having played for 4 minutes, Atilano Iraunkor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saladas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atilano Iraunkor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Reta's zone, Eloy Abaunza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denis Laffitte came out of the goal and Eloy Abaunza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saladas's Mauricio Leoiar got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Denis Laffitte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilano Iraunkor, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Fabian Murillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nunez Oinatz in the 13th minute. Denis Laffitte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilano Iraunkor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atilano Iraunkor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denis Laffitte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eriberto Abajas during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saladas the free kick. The supporters of Saladas booed when Reta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisito Perutxo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rene Modestio came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Saladas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rene Modestio couldn't finish the play. Denis Laffitte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Abaunza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Mauricio Leoiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paolo Moise hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Atilano Iraunkor made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Esteban Sanduru in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabian Murillo saved Saladas from getting behind. When Saladas's Atilano Iraunkor in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Reta's goalie prevented a goal. If Natalio Ospin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Reta's goalkeeper Denis Laffitte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nunez Oinatz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Murillo having to interfere. Denis Laffitte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilano Iraunkor, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Natalio Ospin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
