In the 8th minute, Julio Sabino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 11th minute by Nicolas Ofelio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 11 minutes into the match, Julio Sabino notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Talagapa AFC's Fulgencio Hanni. Fulgencio Hanni was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fulgencio Hanni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Ofelio, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Merceditas's Gilberto Matro shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 19th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fulgencio Hanni but with some difficulty. Fulgencio Hanni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Ofelio in the 32nd minute of play. Rosendo Azeari took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Modesto Bela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicolas Ofelio to make the kick off. Julio Sabino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Fulgencio Hanni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fulgencio Hanni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bonifacio Padro in the 66th minute of the match. After 70 minutes, Bonifacio Padro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merceditas and the Talagapa AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 70 played minutes Merceditas got a freekick which was hit by Bonifacio Padro. Clodoveo Resto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rosendo Azeari. Merceditas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 80 minutes, Romulo Jacob mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talagapa AFC and the Merceditas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 80th minute, Romulo Jacob hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rosendo Azeari took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Modesto Bela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Sabino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Hanni having to interfere. Fulgencio Hanni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Sabino, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Talagapa AFC's Modesto Bela in the 97th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Rosendo Azeari was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Merceditas through an amazing save. Merceditas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
