The Chicoana FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Bernad should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, Chicoana FC's Angelo Clementi threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roberto Liberto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chicoana FC's Prospero Mon got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Chicoana FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Cleto Lazcano hit a great ball. When Osvaldo Muno fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chicoana FC's protests and gave Osvaldo Muno a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Osvaldo Muno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezequiel Frasco got free with Fabio Bernad in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. For all the effort they put into the match, the san diego players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chicoana FC.
